Does anyone know... would cream (heavy cream?) from grass-fed cows have the same benefits as butter from grass-fed cows (in my coffee, along with the MTC oil)? I have tried the butter for a few weeks now and I just don't like it...

Thanks

A good clotted cream or raw cream is just as good as butter. Cream proboly will taste better in coffee

I'd try a mixture of cream and butter, butter is just overwhipped cream, but unless I'm mistaken, butter is more concentrated. 30g of cream fat might make your coffee too "milk".

Cream has more denatured casein in it than butter, so butter is the best option. But if you really can't stand the taste of butter in your coffee, and you love it with cream, why not! You don't always have to be at the perfect green side of the bulletproof diet.

Butter has a huge amount of fat, so thats why it works better. But like Christina says, I guess cream is better then nothing.

I know a lot of cream has thickeners in. So just make sure you check out whats in it.

You can still use the MCT oil in teh coffee as its no taste

I am using this cream http://www.cedarsumm...oduct/nutrition (second row, far right). The description on it says the cows are grass fed, but in the winter they are fed stored grass (the farm is in Wisconsin). I bought it at Whole Foods.

I am enjoying the coffee with this cream and MTC oil much more than I was with the butter. I actually have one cup black (how I really like it) and then one cup with 3 tablespoon of cream (I might up to 4) and 1 tablespoon of MTC. I just shake it in a thermos (no need to use a blender as far as I can tell). Yummy!

Like some of you said, it's probably not ideal, or as good as using butter, but it's better than Cap'n Crunch.

On weekends I don't eat until early afternoon. On weekdays I eat around noon. Both are about 6 hours after I wake up.

Any further insight would be appreciated... like am I likely to experience Ketosis with this?

Thanks!
